WE C Hope together for children with eye cancer, survivors and their families around the world.
Throughout the year, we encourage our supporters to get involved in the same event, wherever you are in the world. By sharing a single event in many places, we strengthen our global caring community. We also create a strong collective voice that raises awareness and sends a message of support to families and survivors struggling with the effects of retinoblastoma.
Raising Awareness
Our coordinated activities usually occur during one of the following events:
- World Retinoblastoma Week (begins 2nd Sunday in May)
- Childhood Cancer Month (September)
- World Child Cancer Day (February 15)
- World Sight Day (2nd Thursday in October)
It’s Crunch Time for kids with eye cancer!
Between chemotherapy treatments, Daisy and Rati loved to pass the time baking cookies at the Ronald McDonald House. They enjoyed eating them even more!
Daisy and Rati’s parents invite you to celebrate their daughters or a special person in your own life with this tasty pastime, and raise life-saving funds for kids with cancer at the same time.
You can host a Daisy Bake at any time of the year. Theme it or make it part of a special occasion. Kids love to decorate gingerbread men and ice cupcakes – and this makes a perfect party activity.
We especially encourage you to host a Daisy Bake on September 28th, 29th or 30th, the last few days of Childhood Cancer Month.
September 29th 2004 is the date on which a simple email from Rati’s desperate mother in Africa sparked an outpouring of love and financial gift from Daisy’s family that evolved into World Eye Cancer Hope. By coincidence, September 29th is the Feast of St Michael, Patron Saint of Sick Children, often celebrated with wreathes of Michaelmas Daisies. So we encourage you to host a Daisy Bake on this day to embrace children with eye cancer and bring hope to their families.
Easy to Organize
A Daisy Bake sale is very easy to organize. Our Fundraiser Pack includes a Daisy Bake Guide to help you plan, theme, personalize and host your event. We will work with you to make your Daisy Bake a very rewarding and successful venture.
Hope Has Never Tasted So Good!
“Rati taught us that children with eye cancer in the developing world urgently need help. Daisy’s courage helped Rati leave a legacy that has already saved other precious young lives. With your help, we can continue to make the girls’ dream a reality.“
This is crunch time for children with eye cancer. Every Daisy Bake you host brings us a step closer to the day when no child faces death or blindness due to poor access to retinoblastoma care!
