Volunteers are vital to the sustainability and success of our work, bringing hope to children around the world.
Whatever your skills or experience, however much time you can offer, you can help us bring life and sight saving care to children with eye cancer. Please check out our information about volunteering with WE C Hope. Below is just a taster of the opportunities available to you. We would love to talk with you about opportunities that fit your skills and schedule.
Rb Family Days and One Rb World Event Planning
Retinoblastoma is a rare childhood cancer with unique family and lifelong impacts. Events that bring our community together are vital for mutual support and collaboration to advance care. They happen thanks to dedicated volunteers. Can you help?
We’ve written a 2-part blog about these events and the volunteer support we need.
Part 1 looks at Rb Family Days and Weekends and the One Rb World conference, three key ways they support our community and improve care, and our tiny team of volunteer organizers.
Part 2 explores the many ways volunteers make a difference, 16 key benefits to both individual volunteers and Rb community, upcoming events, and how you can help! The two articles are linked together.

Graphic Design and Movie Making / Editing
Awareness of childhood eye cancer, the distinctive early sign of white pupil in the affected eye, and the challenges facing those affected by retinoblastoma, particularly in developing countries, is essential to improve life and sight saving care.
To date, our volunteer CEO in the UK has created our marketing materials. Sadly, Abby is losing her sight due to late effects of radiotherapy treatment she had as a baby, and we need the skills of a graphic design and / or video editing volunteer to assist us in developing new, effective resources.
Wherever you are in the world, would you like to work with Abby to help tell the retinoblastoma story, increase life and sight-saving awareness and inspire action that will bring hope to thousands of children, families and survivors around the world?
If you are interested in this opportunity, please email Abby at info[at]wechope.org.
Wear Gold / Red and White Day Host
While events can be held year-round, Wear Gold Day takes place on September 29th (Childhood Cancer Month), and Red & White Day takes place on May 14th during World Rb Week. Would you like to organize a fantastically flamboyant dress down (or up) day at your school, community group or workplace and encourage participation to raise awareness and support WE C Hope?
If you are interested in this opportunity, please download the Fundraiser Pack for more information.
Daisy Bake Host
Daisy Bakes celebrate the pastime that Daisy and Rati adored between chemotherapy treatments. Events can be held year-round, but Daisy Bake Days are September 28th, 29th or 30th, the last few days of Childhood Cancer Month. Could you host a Daisy Bake in your community to raise life-saving awareness and funds for children with cancer?
If you are interested in this opportunity, please download the Fundraiser Pack for more information.
Art for Eyes Art Day Host
Art for Eyes is an annual awareness-raising and fundraising event that typically takes place on the last day (Saturday) of World Rb Week in May. Can you support our work by coordinating an Art Day in your area and encouraging community involvement to raise awareness and bring vibrant hope to children with eye cancer?
If you are interested in this opportunity, please download the Fundraiser Pack for more information.
School/Community Group Co-ordinator
Can you help us promote World Eye Cancer Hope to schools and/or community groups in your local area? This may involve talking about retinoblastoma and our work, distributing educational materials and supporting local fundraising activities. Good organizational skills and confidence in public speaking are necessary, as is being available during school hours.
If you are interested in this opportunity, please contact your local chapter to discuss the possibilities.
