Overseas Challenges

Don’t just go on holiday – discover remote and beautiful places while raising hope for children.

Are you tired of the same old sponsored walks, cycles, swims and runs?  Do you need some extra special inspiration to get fit? Do you want to really see the world? If so, a world challenge could be just what you’re looking for.   Take your adventure of a lifetime through remote wilderness in far flung places, and help us climb mountains for children with cancer.

Zebra gaze across the African plains, the snow-capped peak of Kilimanjaro majestic in the background.

Adventure of a Lifetime

Discover somewhere new this year on the adventure challenge of your life, and help us bring the promise of life and sight to every child with eye cancer.

Experience some of the wildest and most beautiful places on earth, and make memories that last a lifetime.  You’ll be part of a small, encouraging group of like-minded people, and the sense of achievement on completing your challenge will be enormous.

Finding Hope in the Heart of Africa

Have you ever wanted to see the sun rise from above the clouds, or camp under bright stars, surrounded by the sounds of a velvet African night?

Come closer to the children we help in Africa by climbing Mt Kilimanjaro, trekking across the Great Rift Valley and Crater Highlands or the Massai Mara, or cycling through beautiful cool tea country.  We can arrange for you to see our work in action in Kenya while you’re there.

Over 6 days In June 2005, our co-founder Abby White trekked 110km across Northern Tanzania’s sun baked game country. Read her account of the Charity Challenge experience.

Where Will Your Heart Take You?

East Africa is just the start!  Challenges take place from Tibet to Tanzania, Iceland to India, China to Cuba.  Here are just some of the possibilities:

  • Trek across East Africa’s wild Great Rift Valley.
  • Climb Kilimanjaro – Africa’s highest mountain.
  • Dog sled across Swedish Lapland or trek across Iceland.
  • Trek China’s Great Wall or Morocco’s high Atlas.
  • Kayak and trek in Brazil’s spectacular rainforest.
  • Trek to Everest Base Camp or Machu Pichu.
  • Cycle through Cuba, Europe, India or Vietnam.
  • Trek the Transylanian Alps to Dracula’s Castle.
  • Ride elephants and bamboo rafts in Thailand.
  • Paddle the calmness and white waters of the Zambezi.

Professionally Led Tours

When you sign up for a challenge, you commit to reaching higher and pushing harder than you ever thought possible.  Expeditions cover a range of difficulty levels, so if you’re willing and reasonably fit, there is an itinerary for you. The only barriers are in your mind!

Charity Challenge is the world’s leading company providing award-winning overseas fundraising challenges.  They organize, lead and administer safe, ethical, environmentally responsible expeditions, and their inspirational challenges have helped raise over £40million for charity.

They employ local guides, porters and support staff, and use locally owned accommodation wherever possible.  They donate profits from each challenge to a community project in the expedition country.

They offer comprehensive advice during the booking process and provide a full support package, including information on fundraising, fitness training, travel health, vaccinations, visas and responsible travel.

Start Planning Your Adventure Today!

We do hope you are inspired to browse the world of possibilities.  You could soon be recounting your very own amazing adventure of a lifetime, knowing your personal goal also brings us closer to the promise of life and sight for every child.

Challenge yourself to make a difference! Explore the possibilities today.
