Our pre-conference social day and three-day meeting takes place at the Hyatt Regency San Antonio River Walk, in the heart of the city. September is a perfect time to arrive early or stay a few days longer; enjoy a little rest and explore many delights of the Alamo City and the Lone Star State.

State and National Parks
- Guadalupe Mountains National Park: Hike to the highest point in Texas or explore ancient fossil reefs. Remote and rugged, this park also offers some of the best stargazing in the state.
- Big Bend National Park: Boasting desert trails, mountain hikes, hot springs, and the Rio Grande River that forms the international boundary with Mexico and gives the park its iconic name. World Heritage Festival

The five-day World Heritage Festival celebrates the five Missions of San Antonio’s UNESCO World Heritage site. Festival events include a culinary experience showcasing the city’s rich cultural food traditions; Restored by Light – where the façade of Mission San Jose takes on its original frescoed appearance using projection technology; and an active tour of the missions for cyclists, runners and walkers.

Diez y Seis de Septiembre (Mexican Independence Day)
When: Around September 16.
Where: Historic Market Square and La Villita.
On September 16, 1810, Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, known as the Father of Mexico’s Independence, initiated the fight for freedom as he made a cry, or grito, which sparked the beginning of Mexico’s battle for independence from Spain. Independence Day festivities began in 1825, and San Antonio celebrates its deep Mexican heritage with a parade, the El Grito Ceremony and Fiestas Patrias, Mariachi Lab performances, folklórico dancers, food, and many more community events.

Jazz’SAlive Festival
