The following is a selection of resources that we think may be valuable to you. We hope this directory will grow in time to include resources in many countries.

Alex’s Lemonade Stand (USA)
Provides grants of up-to $2,000 for transportation and lodging costs associated with treatment and follow-up, to families in need who do not qualify for help from the National Children’s Cancer Society.
Association of Charity Officers (UK)
The national umbrella body for benevolent charities providing aid and advice to individuals in need. A telephone service helps match those in need with charities providing grant support. 0808 802 2000
Ava’s Gift to June, Inc. (USA)
Helps families who have children fighting cancer by assisting with medical bills, travel expenses and other costs associated with the treatment.
B+ Foundation (USA)
Provides small grants for families in need.
Cancer Financial Assistance Coalition (USA)
Coalition of financial assistance organizations helping individuals and families through the cancer experience by limiting financial burdens. Search by diagnosis or type of assistance required.
CancerCare (USA)
A national nonprofit whose professional oncology social workers provide a range of services, including financial assistance, to anyone affected by cancer, free of charge.

The C.h.a.i.n Fund (USA)
Provides financial assistance for home and daily living needs such as mortgage, rent, utilities, prescriptions, insurance and special equipment needs. Following approval of the applicant, bills are paid directly to the appropriate vendors.
Children’s Miracle Network (USA/Canada)
Supports a network of 170 non-profit children’s hospitals across the USA and Canada which provide expert healthcare to children, regardless of their ability to pay.
CLIC Sargent (UK)
National children’s cancer charity, offering a range of support services, including travel and other assistance grants. To request financial support, call the grants office, who will put you in touch with your closest CLICSargent social worker: 0208-752-2862
Consumer Credit Counselling Foundation (USA)
A national consumer credit counselling agency providing 24-hour toll-free telephone credit counselling on (877) 426-6363. Provides help with budgets, payments, and debt collection.
Dainty Warrior (USA)
Launching in 2015, with a mission to assist families in financial need with travel and accommodation needs and basic living needs during the cancer journey.
Family Fund (UK)
Provides financial support to families caring for severely disabled or seriously ill children. Can help with many costs, ranging from a telephone to holidays, washing machine to driving lessons.
Genus Credit Management (USA)
A credit counselling agency offering free debt management and educational programmes to help financially distressed families.
Insure Kids Now! (USA)
A US Department of Health and Human Services initiative linking the nation’s uninsured children with free or low-cost health insurance.
The League of the Helping Hand (UK)
Operates nationally, providing financial aid to individuals facing hardship with a very low income due to illness or disability.
Offers financial assistance with costs and hardships arising from cancer diagnosis and treatment. Call 0808 808 0000 or apply through a Macmillan nurse.

A searchable database links to a variety of organizations that offer assistance for people with cancer and their families.
Michael’s Way (USA)
Provides small grants for families in need.
The National Children’s Cancer Society (USA)
Provides small grants to families in compelling need, for help with travel and lodging during treatment and follow up care, medical costs and domestic bills.
Patient Advocate Foundation (USA)
Provides publications, help with insurance problems, referrals to attorneys.
REACT (UK)
REACT (Rapid Effective Assistance for Children with Potentially Terminal illness) Provides financial assistance and holidays for families in need.
Sparrow Clubs (USA)
Supports the ideal of “children helping children” by establishing and supporting Sparrow Clubs where children, schoolmates and friends earn grants and raise funds for local sick children through community service.
Turn 2 Us (UK)
Helps people in financial hardship gain access to welfare benefits, charitable grants and support services. You can search their website for sources of funding , quickly and easily, based on your particular needs and circumstances.
United Healthcare Children’s Foundation (USA)
Provides grants of up to $5,000 to families of children 16 or younger who have a commercial health insurance plan. Grants can assist with medical treatment or related care costs such as medical equipment, rehabilitation therapies, counselling, prescriptions or eyeglasses that are excluded or not fully covered by the plan.
