Many wonderful organizations around the world bring help and hope to children affected by cancer, their families and adult survivors.
The following is a selection of resources that we think may be valuable to you. We hope this directory will grow in time to include resources in many countries.

Beads of Courage (USA and international)
Helps children record, tell and own their stories of courage during treatment for cancer and other serious illness.
Brave Kids (USA)
Provides a whole range of resources to support children with special needs and their families.
Chemo Angels (International)
Provides a ray of sunshine for children going through chemotherapy by linking them up with a “Chemo angel” who will send them cards and gifts throughout their treatment.
Cure4Kids – For Kids (USA and international)
An educational resource about cancer and healthy living aimed at school-age children. Developed by St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s Cancer Education for Children Program.
Famous Fone Friends (USA)
Links up hospitalised and housebound children with celebrities in the fields of entertainment and sport. You must send requests with a referral from a doctor, nurse or hospital social worker.
Project Linus (USA)
Provides gifts of handmade blankets to seriously ill children aged 0 to 18.
Songs Of Love (International)
Provides personalised songs for chronically and seriously ill children and young adults.
Starbright Foundation (USA/International)
Maintains a private, online “Starbright World” community, connecting seriously ill children. Produces videos for adolescents and information resources about routine medical procedures in language children will understand (subjects include blood draws, IVs, spinal tap and medical imaging). Also provides packs designed to help pre-school age children learn about and cope with medical experiences.
Starlight Children’s Foundation (UK)
Provides entertainment resources to children in hospitals and hospices throughout the UK.
Sunshine Kids (USA)
Organizes group activities to give kids a break from the challenges of cancer treatment, to rediscover their childhood.
T&B Foundation Inc (USA)
Provides patient pouches to children across the USA fighting cancer on treatment or surgery days. Pouches include age appropriate fun activities to keep the children occupied while waiting for their appointments or surgery. They can be requested online via the foundation website.
